Pneumatic Forklifts

Pneumatic Forklifts

Pneumatic lift trucks are referred to as pallet lift trucks or pump trucks and are widely used in warehouses and shipping plants to move materials on pallets. Pneumatic jacks include a set of metal forks installed on a wheeled counterbalance that has a pump. The pump is used to raise and lower the forks.

Visually check the pallet truck prior to loading. Make sure the wheels are clear of any likely obstructions. Additionally, ensure the handle moves easily and turns appropriately. Check the pallet prior to moving it to assess if it is stacked in a manner that minimizes the chance of anything falling off during lifting. Discharge any air in the pump and let down the forks to the ground by squeezing the lever mounted on the inside of the metal ring on the end of the handle. Slide the blades into the slots in the pallet and ensure the blades are centered so that the pallets’ weight is evenly spread.

By pumping the pneumatic lift lever the blades will go up from the floor. Once there is full clearance, you can stop pumping as there is no need to lift the jack to any further extent. To move the pallet jack, you may lug the handle behind you. It is not recommended to push the pallet vehicle. There will be a huge amount of momentum present. Refrain from quick or sharp turns and do not stop too abruptly. Gently bring the pallet to a halt where you would like to park it. Squeeze the lever inside the grip end to return the blades to the ground. Withdraw the forks and restore the pallet lift to a suitable parking area or continue onto the next job.
