
Crane Operator Classes Nanaimo - For the supervisors and the operators, new and current, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content includes relevant federal, provincial and state safety regulations. The first part of training consists of complete in-class instruction and exam. Following that is a customized hands-on session along with practical lessons and evaluation.
The content of the course applies to all types and categories of overhead lifting crane machines. The instruction will particularly focus on all aspects of crane operation which can be done at the trainee's workplace. Upon completing the course, individuals training would learn how to operate particular overhead lifting machines, attachments and related parts efficiently and safely.
The operator course's goal is to first identify and potentially dangerous operator habits which may develop when an individual operates an overhead crane. Costly damage to products and equipment could be prevented with proper practices. Training reduces the possibility of a workplace injury or incident occurring.
The duration of the course is eight hours of classroom instruction followed by a few hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants will be graded on their understanding of training material via written tests and an assessment of their practical knowledge. The minimum acceptable score is 80 percent.
The in-class session, the trainee would learn about guidelines and legislation, causes of occurrences and damages, danger awareness, internal responsibility, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, basic equipment and design principles, pre-shift equipment inspections, safe hoisting/operating techniques, equipment applications/rigging, kinds of hardware, angles and hitches, pedestrian/operator safety, hand signals for operators and slingers, turning/flipping loads safely.
The customized practical training and evaluation session should be pre-scheduled. It would be held at the trainees' facility following completion of the in-class session. The length of this practical training part is one to two hours. The instructor will train two operators at a time about skills such as safe operation, planning the lift and proper rigging practices.
After finishing both the practical training and evaluation and the in-class instruction, the trainee will be tested via an exam. Every participant will be required to sign the safety rules. Successful trainees will be provided with individual wallet certificates. The company would be given a framed wall certificate.
